Introducing the 83rd episode of Thinking Outside the Pod. We begin with a discussion concerning the recent Doctor Who announcement that Jenna Coleman, who plays The Doctor’s companion Clara, is leaving the series. Jimmy and Jason, all the while, attempt to explain to Fisher all of the wibbily-wobbly timey-wimey ins-and-outs of the Doctor Who universe. Next, we discuss the announcement that Facebook will be offering new buttons in addition to the “Like” button. In light of this change, we come up with the idea of creating the most disliked podcast in history. Lastly, we discuss some of the recent Texas news stories that have brought shame upon our great state. First the multiple incidents where high school football players targeting referees and secondly the recent arrest of Ahmed Mohamed for bringing a clock to school. We also take the opportunity to get on our respective soapboxes and rant about political correctness in this day and age. All of this culminating in Jimmy and Jason forcing Fisher to run for president.
That’s right, 80 episodes. A lot of people said we would never get here. We just stared back and asked them why they were so negative and why eighty, it seems like a very arbitrary number. But let’s look past the negative and get on with it. This week’s topics: The launch of YouTube Gaming, the Assassin’s Creed and Borderlands Video Game movies, Amazon’s announcement of a new Galaxy Quest TV series, our love for video production, and the start of a new season of Fantasy football which kicked up the debate about the differences between traditional and e-sports.
